Mangalore, Oct 22: The Christian girl who recently married a boy from the Hindu community against her family's wishes, returned her parental home on Monday without the knowledge of her husband.
It has been learnt that the girl, Sonia D'Souza from Yeliyapadavu, has also complaint to the police commissioner of Mangalore city against her Hindu husband Roshan and his friends and accused them of fooling her and forcing her to marry.
A week ago, despite her mother's repeated pleas, 21-year-old Sonia entered into wedlock with Roshan from Konaje, in the presence of Hindutva activists at Arya Samaj on Thursday. They were married as per Hindu religious customs.
Prior to the marriage, Sonia's family had filed a missing complaint at Konaje police station when she moved out of the house with the intention of marrying Roshan. Both Kadri and Konaje police had recorded statements of the bride and the bridegroom on Thursday at Arya Samaj before entering into wedlock.
On the other hand, Roshan complains that Sonia ran away from the house without informing him, and is contemplating legal action against her. He said that if he had known she would desert him, he would not have entered into wedlock.
Roshan said that she fled the house with her brother while he was taking a shower. He insists that they were married on their own accord without any pressure from his side.
