Mangaluru, Dec 20: Controversial Hindutva leader and Sri Ram Sena chief Pramod Muthalk has endorsed the recent contentious statement of BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj, who had called Mahatma Gandhi's killer Nathuram Godse a 'patriot'.
He was responding to the questions of media persons in the city on Saturday after appearing in a local court in connection with 2009 Mangaluru pub attack case.
Mr Muthalik went on to claim that the autobiography of Godse is a source of inspiration for many. œIf you read his autobiography you will realize that Godse was a great patriot, he said.
œNo doubt, Mahatma Gandhi was a patriot. Similarly, Godse was also a patriot, he reiterated adding that the assignation of the father of nation was a debatable issue.
Meanwhile, Dakshina Kannada district committee of Congress party has condemned the statement of Mr Muthalik. œThey are glorifying a terrorist and calling him a patriot. This is the true face of Sangh Parivar, said a local Congress leader.
