Bengaluru, May 27: A delegation from Campus front of India, Karnataka met Karnataka education minister Kimmane Ratnakar and urged him to take action against the Excellent Academy Higher Primary School, Hassan.
The school has decided to shut down after collecting fee from students. As many as 25 students are studying in the school. The parents of the students are complaining that no other schools are willing to give them admission under RTE quota.
The CFI claimed that when the issue was taken to the block education officer, Hassan, he responded very irresponsibly.
The delegation demanded strict against the school management and the BEO. The minister assured to look into this matter and resolve it at the earliest.
The delegation was also accompanied by a victim of 2nd PUC results debacle. A release issued by the CFI, stated that the minister explained very patiently to the girl the whole process of re-evaluation and assured that necessary measures will be taken immediately by the govt. He said that more evaluators have been added to speed up the evaluation process and that the revaluation fee will be returned to the students for the genuine cases.
The minister also said that if the reevaluation results are not announced before the CET results, he will ask the KEA to just announce the CET scores. The CET ranks will be announced only after the re-evaluation results are out, so the students are not affected.
Swadakathulla, a state executive committee member, who lead the team formally, announced that the CFI is satisfied with the minister's and board's efforts and will temporarily stop the protest.
This delegation comprised of Mahboob Pasha, State Treasurer, Nouman Sadik and Vaseem Shareef, State Committee members and Sufyan, Hassan District Incharge of CFI.
