Doha, Aug 28: Well-known NRI activist, Tulu community leader and president of Bunts Qatar, Prakash Chandra Ajila died on Friday at Hamad Medical Hospital, Doha, following a massive cardiac arrest.
He was the instrumental to bring all the Tulu community members under one common platform. Later he was elected president of Bunts Qatar recognising his immense contribution and selfless service to the entire Tulu community.
Humble and soft spoken Ajila hails from Mulky town in coastal district of Dakshina Kannada. He spent around 25 years of his life in Qatar along with his family. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
He worked for Hamad Medical Corporation and was conferred with the Star of Excellence Award a few years ago.
His mortal remains are expected to be repatriated to his home town after the completion of all the legal formalities, according to Ravi Shetty, President of Tulu Koota Qatar.
Arvind Patil, President of ICBF, Divakar Poojary, General Secretary of ICC, Madhu, President of Karnataka Sangha Qatar, Niyaz Ahmed, President of KMCA, Ravi Shetty, President of Tulu Koota Qatar, Abdul Majid President of SKMWA, Norbert Coda, President of MCC, community activist M. Iqbal Manna and several prominent members, social workers of Qatar Karnataka expatriate community have expressed deep shock and condolences at the sad demise of their beloved leader.
