Mangaluru, Nov 3: In a startling revelation, an eye-witness for the Monday’s double murder at Mangaluru sub jail has claimed that prison staff also involved in the case.
Madoor Isubu and his associate Ganesh Shetty were brutally hacked to death by a gang inside the jail during breakfast on Monday.
Faizal, an under-trial lodged in the same prison, told reporters here that the weapon used by the accused was supplied by a jail staff. He made this revelation when he was taken to court for hearing on Tuesday morning.
He said that around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday prison staff Chakresh brought a knife in a cover and handed into over to the accused.
He also said that on Monday morning prison staff Rajendra and Puttanna opened the cell of the accused first and gave him opportunity to pounce on the victims.
While contacted ADGP and IGP (prisons) Kamal Pant, who also inspected the prison on Tuesday, said that probe will reveal the truth.
Mr Pant said that if any prison staff was found to be involved in Monday’s unfortunate incident, stringent action would be taken against him and he also would be considered as a an accused in the case.
