Bengaluru, Apr 20: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday met former minister and MLA M H Ambareesh at his residence and held talks for over two hours.
The CM’s move is seen as an effort to pacify the ‘rebel’ star, who had recently dropped hints of quitting the Congress party.
Sources in the Congress said Siddaramaiah accompanied by Ministers M B Patil and K J George had dinner with Ambareesh.
Siddaramaiah is learnt to have tried to convince Ambareesh not to quit the party.
Ambareesh, who is a prominent Vokkaliga leader from Mandya district, had raised a banner of revolt against the chief minister after he was removed from the Cabinet last year.
