Mangaluru, Apr 20: Karnataka governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala will lay foundation stone for the Hazrath Syed Banath College to be constructed under the aegis of Seyyid Madani Charitable Trust (SMCT) in Ullal, here, on Saturday, April 22.
Announcing this at a press meet here on Thursday, Haji Abdul Rasheed, president of Seyyid Madani Dargah committee, said that the governor will also felicitate special achievers on the occasion.
Syed Fazal Koyamma Thangal, the Khazi of Ullal will offer dua and B Ramanath Rai, district-in-charge minister, will release the souvenir ‘Hazrath Madani Ilmi’, he said.
Basavaraj Rayareddy, higher education minister, Tanvir Sait, primary and secondary education minister, U T Khader, food and civil supplies minister, Ramhan Khan and Oscar Fernades, Rajya Sabha members, Nalin Kumar Kateel, Dakshina Kannada MP will be among the guests.
He said that SMCT, which came into existence 35 years ago with the aim of promoting education in Ullal region, is already running several institutions including Urdu, Kannada, English medium schools, pre-university colleges and degree colleges. Around 8,000 students are studying in different institutions, he said.
