Mangaluru, Apr 24: A case has been registered at Panambur police station in Mangaluru against a provocative comment posted by a miscreant on ‘Veera Kesari’ Facebook page, which is infamous for spreading communal hatred in coastal Karnataka.
The hate comments against Muslims started flooding on Facebook after Jagadish Suvarna, a Bajrang Dal activist was found dead near the mouth of estuary at Bengre here on April 21, a day after he went missing.
A case of suspicious death was registered at Panambur police station after Jagadish’s brother expressed suspicion that the former would have been murdered. It is not yet clear whether it was a suicide or murder. It is learnt that Jagadish was drunk before his death. The investigation is still on. On the other hand Jagadish’s death has helped the trouble mongers to trigger communal hatred in the region through social media.
