Bengaluru, May 17: A group of 51 progressive seers on has met Karnataka Chief Minister and impressed upon him to enact the proposed anti-superstition Bill at the earliest.

The delegation, led by Nidumamidi Mutt seer Veerabhadra Channamalla Swami, met Siddaramaiah at the latter’s residence on Tuesday and said that enacting the Bill was necessary to prevent cheating of innocent people in the name of rituals.

Channamalla Swami told reporters that the chief minister promised the delegation that the state Cabinet will discuss the Bill and take an appropriate decision. He said the Cabinet committee headed by Revenue Minister Kagodu Thimmappa constituted to look into provisions of the Bill had not met for several months.

Besides, it has been a year since an expert committee headed by former Supreme Court judge Justice Shivraj V Patil submitted its report on the Bill.

The Swami said the proposed Bill is not against any religion. If required, the government may host the draft Bill on a website and elicit public opinion.

Good one. This move helps to avoid falling in fake religious customs.

Loved it. Only religious leaders can clarify and differentiate the real and fake customs. Then only people can understand it properly.

When people are away from God, they tend to fall trap to such superstitious. Very good move to ban such practices. I think those who believe in such acts should try to know Who is God and what is the purpose of life ... I suggest to read the religious books including Vedas and the QURAN...

QURAN clearly mentions that such practices can make their life in deep trouble .. QURAN also mentions that if the people depend on God, then God will help them from every issues faced in life.
First know your CREATOR , U will have NO doubt who is playing Evil in this temporary world that God has created.
