Udupi, May 19: Of the 161 promises made by the Congress in its party manifesto ahead of last Assembly polls, chief minister Siddaramaiah led government has already fulfilled 150, said All India Congress Committee secretary P C Vishnunadh.pcvishwanath

Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, he said that now main goal of the Congress is to see that it retains power in the State. This is not just the party’s desire, but also that of all secular forces, he told presspersons here.

The government led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has launched several welfare schemes. Party workers are being instructed to propagate the importance and benefits of these welfare schemes to the people, he added.

The AICC has set up teams to collect opinion of party workers from the State. Mr. Vishnunadh has been given the charge of Mysuru division.

These meetings were being held on one-to-one basis to collect unbiased and independent opinion, he said.

Minister of State for Fisheries, Youth Empowerment and Sports Pramod Madhwaraj, Congress leaders M.A. Gafoor, Veronica Carnelio, Gopal Bhandary, H.M. Revanna, Manjappa, and Rajanna were present on the occasion.
