Bengaluru, May 30: St Joseph's Institutions, Bangalore, is starting a new Law College, named St Joseph's College of Law at 18, Residency Road, Bengaluru. This is the first law College by Jesuits in South Asia. Fr. Swebert D'Silva, SJ, who recently retired as the principal of St Aloysius College, Mangaluru, is the director of the law college.
Jesuits have been in the field of education, all over the world, for more than 450 years. They are renowned for quality education and run some of the very prestigious institutions in India.

St Joseph's College of Law, Bengaluru, will begin to function from the academic year 2017-18. It is affiliated to the Karnataka State Law University and approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI). It will offer two programmes, B.A.,LL.B, a five year integrated programme for those who have completed 12th Std; and a 3 year, LL B programme, for those who have completed their graduation.
A Law College like this will provide an opportunity to the young people to study the various aspects of Indian and International law and jurisprudence. Our endeavor is to see that the students have sound ethical principles while getting legal knowledge.
