In the recent days it is observed that holding a tournament (Cricket/Volleyball/Kabaddi/Football ......) has become a trend to raise the funds among the organizers.

In plain words I could say these types of games are organized to increase the participants.

Every organization works for the uplift of the community in different sectors/Fields viz Education, Providing Basic necessities( Food, Clothing & Shelter) to the needy. Al Hamdulillah every thing is fine if it is done within the border lines of ISLAM.

Dear Br. Ahmed,

Islam has clearly drawn lines between halal and haram.

To identify any item whether it falls in the allowed or disallowed, it is very easy.
You can not check the list of allowed items. It is very huge database. Where as The list of disallowed/forbidden items is short comparatively.

Just refer to the list of disallowed items.
If the item is there, it is not allowed, if not there it as allowed.

Your case, i don't think cricket is in the list of disallowed items.
So it should be permissible.

There are many games with gambling, betting, lottery, these are haram. Though I am not a Islamic scholar, I shared what learned from. Wallahu Ahlam.

With all respect I really appreciate the works of JF.

But today when all of a sudden when I viewed the pic published above the wording
" Play for Charity" insisted me to ask a query with the organized if there is any concept in ISLAM that says we can play to raise the fund for any noble cause or as it is mentioned in this pic " Play for Charity".....
