Riyadh: Khidmah Foundation hosts annual family get-together

Riyadh: Khidmah Foundation Riyadh Unit (KF) hosted a unique 4th Annual Family get together Event at AL Rushd Resorts, Riyadh on 4th May 2017.

Mr. Shahbaz Hajika was the master of the ceremony for the event. Janab Abdul Gafoor Shaikh Basrur briefed in his presentation goals and achievements of our activities back home so far. A detailed projection for the year 2017-18 was also presented.

A record turn-out of guests gathered at this event. Sole intention of the program was to bring all likeminded socio-community welfare organizations from coastal districts of Karnataka under one roof. KF Riyadh got support from various organizations of the coastal districts of Karnataka like – Jamiatul Falah, Karavli Association, DKMO, Hidaya Foundation, DKSC, Panorama, BSMI, Bantwal, Bhatkal, Murdeshwar, Manki, Tonse Welfare Association, Al Huda Foundation, Karnataka Salafi Association, Nasratul Masakeen, Honnavar and other surrounding Jamaaths.

There were plenty of special attractions on the event. Jet Airways and Air India has provided 2 One way tickets to India as gift vouchers among the audience. Joy Alukkas also provided special gift vouchers and apart from these there were plenty of lucky winners. Alif International School Riyadh conducted a special drawing competition for children below 5 years of age and the winners were awarded with attractive prizes. Exir Polyclinic had placed their medical camps to perform normal checkups for the public in the event.

The meeting commenced with the recitation of the holy Quran and translation by Mohammed Nasrullah Kandlur. The program was immediately followed by the presentation by Janab Abdul Gafoor Shaikh Basrur. The chief guest of the event was Janab Uzair Malik Falahi. He iterated that the best of the sadaqa (work of charity) is to offer water to the thirsty. Janab Uzair saab reminded all the audience that each and every act of kindness is charity and that one needs to be down to earth and be kind and spread the message of Almighty God.

The Special attraction of the event was the felicitation program hosted by the 2 Intellectual personalities from Bhatkal and Murdeshwar Jamaath (Dr. Zaheer & Dr. Wasim) respectively to a couple Myrose Pushpalatha & her husband working in king abdulaziz hospital for an act of humanity shown towards the case of Brother Abubackar Makde. A token of appreciation was handed over by the president of Bhatkal & Murdeshwar Jamaath (Janab Najjaf Bhatkal & Janab Ashfaque Koteshwar) respectively. Dr. Zaheer took over to convey some beautiful message to the audience which was well acknowledged by the public who were seated at the event. One needs to always place humanity above all at all the times. It’s this act of kindness that the world is yearning for at this time of hardship.

An Islamic book stall was in place at the event on behalf of Al Huda Foundation where free Islamic books were distributed to all the people including non-Muslims to take benefit and better understanding of the peaceful religion portraying the peaceful message of brotherhood.

Various games such as tug of war, Volley Ball were conducted for Men under the supervision of Janab Imtiaz Hemmady. Games were also conducted for Kids and ladies as well. The mouthwatering food was served by Bhatkal Caterers and all the public seemed to have loved the taste.

Finally, KF President Janab Yaseen Shirur offered some valuable talk and concluded the stage event with vote of thanks. He thanked all the KF Volunteers for making the event a successful one with weeks of preparation and dedication. He also thanked the executive committee members Dammam, Organizing committee members, General Members, All the representatives of various other organizations of coastal district of Karnataka including guests, sponsors of the program. Event Managers Abdussalam Moulana and Fazlur Rehman Kolkar had compered the complete program.

Khidmah Foundation is a non-governmental organisation, formed for the development of the society and other needy communities across all towns and villages of Kundapur taluk. It strives towards sustainable development, reducing poverty, education, medical aid, self-employment & training, disaster relief and emergency response. Khidmah Foundation operates from Riyadh and Dammam having a dedicated group of samaritan brothers in India to accomplish the ground level activities.

Ajman: Ashok Bai Baria (44), a resident of Valsad - Ahmedabad, succumbed to a heart attack in Ajman. 

The incident occurred on March 13 morning at his residence, following which he experienced severe physical distress leading to the fatal cardiac arrest. 

Fishing has been a longstanding activity in Ajman- UAE, with Baria being actively involved in the profession for many years. 

Salam Pappinissery, CEO of Yab Legal Services in the UAE, has informed that all necessary arrangements are underway to repatriate the deceased's body to his hometown.
