‘Help Desk’ inaugurated at Lady Goschen Hospital

Mangalore, June 19: A ‘Help Desk’ was inaugurated at the Government Lady Goschen Hospital in Mangalore on Tuesday under the auspices of the Indian Red Cross Society, DK district.

 

Ajai Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director, Corporation Bank, inaugurated.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shantaram Shetty, Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society, DK district, said that the Desk will be beneficial to all patients of the Hospital as well as their relatives and dear ones. Issues that concern the patients such as availability of drugs, transport facility for women after delivery etc besides other problems would be addressed to through the Desk.

 

Dr. Shakuntala, Hospital Superintendent, said that the Hospital is in need of a blood bank of its own and that the Indian Red Cross Society, DK district has agreed to take it up. On an average the Hospital needs 60-100 bottles of blood every year, she said, while stating that the Hospital does possess blood refrigeration facility.
