Kasargod, June 23: A 4-year-old girl, who was riding pillion to her father along with mother, was killed when the motorcycle collided with a private bus on a National Highway at Arikkady here.
The police have identified the deceased as Fathima Rimsana, daughter of Musthafa and Raseena, residents of Kalathur Jara.
The incident occurred near Hanuman Temple at Arikkady when the family was returning home after visiting Kumble town.
According to eyewitnesses the accident occurred when driver of speeding bus plying from Bandyodu to Kumble, suddenly applied the brakes. As a result, the motorcycle rammed into the bus.
Police said the kid who sustained injuries was rushed to the hospital where she was declared brought dead.
The death of the child Rimsana has sent shock waves through the area. She was LKG student at Kohinoor Public School, Kumble.
