Mangalore, July 14: Haladi Srinivas Shetty has been insulted by the BJP by making last minute change in its decision with regard to giving him a ministerial berth and hence a massive protest would be held against the party in the days to come, said M Karunakar Shetty, Convenor, Bunts Hostel.
Addressing media persons at a press meet in Mangalore on Saturday, Mr. Shetty said that Haladi Srinivas Shetty never lobbied for ministership. “Until Wednesday evening he was at his residence in Haladi. He was asked to come to Bangalore with an assurance that he would be given a place in the state cabinet and at the last minute, they made a change in their decision. We are not demanding that he be given a ministerial berth. We are condemning the insult that has been made to him”, Mr. Shetty said.
RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat has played a key role in him missing out on the ministerial berth, Mr. Shetty said.
Mr. Shetty also denied that the Bunt community is unhappy with Kota Srinivas Poojary being preferred over Haladi Srinivas Shetty for cabinet induction. “We are happy for him. But we are against the injustice and insult of our leader”, he said.
