Udupi, July 20: A 17-year-old boy, who went for fishing is feared to have drowned on Arabian Sea near Kodibengre village in Udupi taluk on Thursday.

The victim is Nishan, son of Keshav Kotian of Bengre. Nishan had gone for fishing along with five others, including two neighbours, early in the morning.

When they were pulling the fishing-net back with supporting ropes, Nishan lost his balance and fell into the waters. Suddenly, a strong wave threw him off balance. Efforts to trace him have not succeeded.

A complaint has been registered at the Malpe police station.
