Mirpur, Mar 31: India thrashed Australia with a 73 runs win in their World Twenty20 clash in Dhaka on Sunday, as they topped the group two of the Super-10s with four successive wins.

India scored 159-7 as they were sent in to bat first by Australia captain George Bailey and Australia were bowled out for a trifling 86 in 16.2 overs as Ravichandran Ashwin grabbed 4-11 helping India to a 73 run win.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, although India looked in immediate trouble as their top order faltered following opener Rohit Sharma's wicket to part-time bowler Brad Hodge off the fourth ball of the innings, Yuvraj helped steer the team back into the game with his massive 60 off 43 balls that included five boundaries and four sixes.

India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni reportedly made 24 during a fifth-wicket stand of 84 off 42 balls with Yuvraj before Mitchell Starc bowled him in the second-last over.

India, who had already qualified for the semi-finals, have reportedly topped group two of the Super-10s with four successive wins and will face the number two team from the other group in the last four.
