Malpe, September 16: Tebma Shipyards Ltd., a subsidiary of Bharati Shipyard, launched two 10-tonne bollard pull tugs in Malpe here recently.
A release from the company here said the two tugboats were intended for the Indian Navy. The two vessels floated from the cradle of Tebma Shipyards slipway at Malpe on September 11. Each vessel is 22.8 metres long and 7.42 metres wide with a draft forward (bow) of 2.35 metres.
Each tug has a capacity of 10 tonnes bollard pull at 85 per cent maximum continuous rating (MCR) and 12 knots speed at 85 per cent MCR and is fitted with two 850 HP engines driven by two Steerable Rudder Propellers of 1350 mm dia.
One such tug was delivered to the Navy in August 2012. The two tugs were launched on September 11.
