Bengaluru, Oct 25: Claiming that Israel is a natural hub of innovation because of the presence of thousands of start-ups, and the most scientists and engineers per capita globally, Dana Kursh, the Consul General (South India) of the Jewish regime said that her country is ready to share its practices with India.
Speaking to media persons in Bengaluru, she said: “Now, India too is becoming an innovation hub, thanks to the entrepreneurship boom in the country, and Israel is willing to share its best practices with the startup community here.”
“At the end of the day, it is about sharing the best practices of success and failure, and that is what we are trying to do in different formats,” the diplomat said.
She said societal acceptance of ‘failure’, government support, as well as the collaboration with top academic institutions have a huge role to play in the success of startups. “In Israel, we are not afraid of failure. You cope with failure but it does not paralyse you. And I see the same spirit here [in India],” said Ms. Kursh.
Israel, which is a global cybersecurity powerhouse, is also planning to increase its collaboration with India in the area of cybersecurity.
The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) reports that in 2017, more than 53,000 cybersecurity incidents were observed. “There is a lot of thinking about... how Indian and Israeli cybersecurity startups can join hands together,” said Ms. Kursh.
