Mumbai, Sept 10: The Mumbai Police on Sunday arrested a 20-year-old labourer who confessed to murdering HDFC Vice President Siddharth Sanghvi after he left the office on Wednesday. The accused also told the police that after dumping Sanghvi’s body, he took his car to Navi Mumbai. The arrested accused, according to the reports, is one of the four men who was hired to kill the HDFC VP.
The police also revealed that the plan was hatched by one of Sanghvi’s colleagues who was jealous of his promotion. The 39-year-old banker had left his office in Kamala Mills area at 7:30 PM and since then his whereabouts are yet to be traced.
On Saturday, his car was found in Kopar Khairane area. “We have recovered the car of Sanghvi from Kopar Khairane and we are investigating this case from all possible angles. But at this stage, we are unable to speak anything concrete about his disappearance,” said Ravindra Shisve, Additional CP, Central Zone.
Some of the media reports say that blood stains were found on Sanghvi’s car which was found in a residential complex in Navi Mumbai. Without confirming the reports, Senior Inspector Pandit Thorat said the matter was being investigated. He added that more details in the case will be shared once the investigation concludes.
“The family members of the (missing) person have met us and requested not to share much about the case to media and they have some apprehensions about the details coming into news reports,” he added.
