Jubail: Indian Social Forum, Karnataka State Committee held Independence Day program for NRI Indians to commemorate India’s 71st Independence, recently at Jubail Cookxon Restaurant.
Speaking on the occasion, Nazeer Thumbe, Executive member of Indian Social Forum said that people from all religions, workers, women, students, writers, dalits, and minorities have sacrificed their life for the freedom struggle. It is unfortunate that in Independent India minorities, dalits, women, writers, and students are still fighting for the freedom to live, freedom to eat and freedom to speak. It is because of this the general public still have this question in their mind that who got the freedom in India.
In his presidential speech, Arif Jokatte, President of Indian Social Forum, Karnataka State Committee said that patriotism is not to love your government. The real patriotism is to raise your voice against anti-people policies and to fight for the social justice. It is the responsibility of each Indian to actively participate in all of its developments.
The guests present on the dais were, Athaullah Uchila President of Indian Fraternity Forum Eastern Province, Ibrahim Venoor Vice President of Indian Social Forum Jubail.
On account of Indian Independence Day , Sports Meets also were arranged in Jubail for its members with variety of games and prizes were distributed for the winners.
On this Occasion, Ashraf Kukkaje , State General Secretary of Indian Social Forum welcomed the guest and delivered the introductory speech. Jubail Vice President Ibrahim Venoor delivered vote of thanks and Mohammad Samath Jubail Social Forum branch committee member coordinated the program.
The program was initiated with Unity Song “Saare Jahanse Acha” and concluded with National Anthem
Sweets and refreshments was served among the NRI Indians who were present on this Independence Day program.
