Muneer Katipalla, state president of Democratic Youth Federation, said that the home minister is directly responsible for this “coldblooded murder.”

“An innocent youth has been murdered by the ANF without any provocation. There is lawlessness everywhere in the state. Incidents of moral policing and communal clashes have continued in coastal Karnataka under Congress rule. This shows the failure of the home minister,” he said.

Akram Hasan, State Secretary, SDPI, said that Mr George has no moral right to continue as home minister of Karnataka. “He should quit immediately taking moral responsibility for the brutal crime committed by ANF.”

Vidya Dinaker, social activist, said that the government must institute a detailed inquiry by an independent third party and take punitive action.

“The Congress leadership from our district must follow up and ensure this happens. We can't have those responsible for security and the rule of law becoming trigger-happy and not face the consequences of their irresponsible actions,” she said.
