Mysuru, Jan 20: Chief minister HD Kumaraswamy on Saturday admitted that sequestering MLAs to resort is not a good political development, but blamed political exigencies in Karnataka for it.
He said there’s no need for the JD(S) to ‘protect’ its MLAs, but defended the Congress’s move to shift MLAs to a resort in Bidadi. “The BJP has created confusion which forced the Congress to protect its MLAs,” he claimed.
Stating that he’ll not poach BJP MLAs, the CM said: “The BJP is trying to destabilize the coalition government. But it will not happen.” He also hoped that goddess Chamundeshwari will guide the saffron party leaders in right direction. “I’m blessed by the goddess who is protecting my government,” he said.
Kumaraswamy hosted a dinner meeting for his party MLAs in Mysuru after a promotional event of his son Nikhil Kumaraswamy’s film ‘Seetharama Kalyana.’
