Bengaluru, Jun 27: Primary and secondary education minister SR Srinivas on Wednesday said department officials will travel to Kerala and New Delhi to study the successful model of government schools there.
“In the next 15 days, I will lead a team of education department experts and visit the two states for research ... We will study how government schools operate there, compile their best practices and implement them here,” the newly appointed minister said.
In 2018, chief minister HD Kumaraswamy had asked the department to take suggestions from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi on how to run state educational institutions.
At the other end, Srinivas reiterated the government stand of having Kannada as a compulsory language in ICSE and CBSE schools. He said the block education officer (BEO) and deputy directors of public instruction (DDPI) will be responsible for failure in implementing the language.
