Kannur, Dec 6: Artistic creations at Kannur International Airport, which is all set for inauguration on December 9, depicting cultural traditions of Malabar and Kannur have now added two more pieces of art, but these represent the cultural heritage of the nearby state of Karnataka.
While one picture represents the Kodagu culture, the other depicts traditional art forms of Karnataka. Now, pictures of the culture and art tradition of the neighbouring state will also adorn the walls of Kannur International Airport, along with those depicting the cultural heritage of Kerala, especially the North Malabar region.
The airport authorities decided to give Karnataka a due consideration, especially Kodagu because of its proximity to the airport, though it is geographically part of another state. Virajpet in south Kodagu is just 58 km away from the airport while Madikeri, the headquarters of Kodagu district is around 90 km away.
