Kuwait City, Mar 19: The Kuwait India Fraternity Forum (KIFF), a socio-cultural organization of Indians residing in Kuwait successfully launched KIFF Blood Donors' Network with a Mass Blood donation camp on Friday, at Ministry of Education for Private schools Hall, Salmiya. The event was organized in association with Kuwait Central blood Bank and Noor Clinic. The program witnessed huge response. Large number of self-motivated donors were seen lining up for blood donation even till the last minute.
The organisers informed that even though more than 300 people have registered to donate, due to shortage of time only 200 could donate blood.
Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Ramesh Kumar, Consultant and Head of Hematology, Al-Adan Hospital said that, a healthy adult could give blood 3-4 times a year without any problem. The volume of blood is restored by the body naturally within 3-4 days.
Dr. Mohamed Gaber Lotfy, Registrar, Kuwait Central Blood Bank, applauded the efforts of the organizers in encouraging the youth and conducting such a camp.
Inaugurating KIFF blood donors Network, Mr. Amjath Ali, General Secretary, Kuwait India Fraternity Forum said that,organized efforts would be made to increase the acquisition of the new blood donors, retention rate of the existing blood donors and maintaining the comprehensive data about the donors.
Mr. Abdul Hameed Mulki, President, KKMA, Karnataka Wing, Mr. Malayil Moosa Koya and Ms. Ghadeer Al Edan, Marketing and PR Executive, Noor Clinic also spoke on the occasion.
Other prominent guests on the occasion include Dr. Sunny Varghese, Head of Blood Bank, YIACO Labs, Ms. Sara Munir Ali, Marketing and PR Executive, Noor Clinic.
