Kudankulam, September 12: The situation in Kudankulam continues be tense. The villagers have now alleged that the police were carrying out searches at their homes. The villagers allege that the police have destroyed their property while searching their homes.
Anti-nuclear movement leader SP Udayakumar may be be arrested on Wednesday even as more support comes in from India against corruption.
IAC member and social activist Arvind Kejriwal is also likely to join the protest on Wednesday. "If Udayakumar is listening to me then I would request him not to surrender the government and if he surrenders then the movement will die. We are with him," said Kejriwal.
The protestors are demanding authorities to stop the loading of uranium fuel into the reactors, which will take place on Thursday.
Former Team Anna member Prashant Bhushan, too, has moved the Supreme Court to stop the process. Thousands have been fasting and spending nights at the make-shift camps, while protests have now spread to Chennai and Coimbatore.
A total of 51 people have been arrested so far. The protestors are demanding authorities to stop the loading of uranium fuel in first of the two nuclear reactors, which will take place on September 13. One person died in police firing on Monday.
