Bengaluru, May 16: Three construction workers from Jharkhand have been arrested for killing a co-worker when he failed to repay a Rs 5,000-loan. On April 1, construction workers digging a foundation pit in Classic Orchid Layout found a body.
They found that four labourers had left the job without informing their contractor, supervisor or neighbours. They later arrested Mungroe Mahato (32), Gono Roy (42) and Baijnath Kol (45) in Jharkhand. The fourth suspect is at large. Police said Sahadev and the four men were from the same town in Jharkhand.
They had come to the city in December 2016 and got jobs as construction workers. Sahadev borrowed Rs 5,000 from them in January but did not repay it, leading to frequent quarrels. They ended up killing him. They buried him in a vacant site and left the city the next day.
