Bengaluru, Jan 2: Identification of illegal immigrants, fighting against drug menace and maintaining law and order are among the top in the agenda of the Karnataka Police, Home Minister M B Patil said here on Wednesday.
Addressing a press conference after holding a review meeting with the senior officials of his department here, he said that “the state police are on the verge of cracking the murder of Journalist and Social activist Gauri Lankesh and Renowned writer M M Kalburagi and bring the culprits to books”.
Underlining that stringent action would be initiated to prevent illegal immigrants taking shelter in the State he said that “the police have identified about 113 cases of illegal immigrants and actions are being initiated against them. More alert will be sounded against the illegal immigrants in future”.
The issues relating to containing crime, improving law and order and providing housing facilities, are among the matters came for discusion.
