Bengaluru, Oct 29: Even as the Bharatiya Janata Party is busy with preparation for the upcoming by-polls in Karnataka speculation is rife that deputy chief minister Laxman Savadi would be dropped from the post during next cabinet reshuffle.
His induction had led to protests since he had lost the 2018 assembly elections.
Sources said the BJP leadership is considering dropping him over his poor performance in the Maharashtra assembly polls. Savadi was in charge of Sangli and Kolhapur districts where the BJP won only two of a total 18 seats.
The BJP is also expected to reward party leader and former minister CP Yogeshwar for his efforts to bring the BJP back to power.
Sources say the party has already indicated to him that he would get a cabinet berth. Yogeshwar could be made an MLC or he could get the ticket to contest from Hunsur bypoll.
