Liquor from Goa seized on train

Mangaluru, Aug 31: Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel attached to Karwar Railway Station on Sunday seized liquor from Goa worth Rs. 10,040 being illegally transported on a train at Karwar. A release from the Konkan Railway Corporation here said that the RPF was in the process of conducting a special checking, particularly in view of the smuggling of cheap liquor to Karnataka. When they were inspecting train no. 56641, Madgaon-Mangaluru Central Passenger, they noticed one unclaimed carton box and four bags containing 172 bottles of liquor from Goa in the general compartment.
