This does not mean that managements of bars can sell liquor till that time. They have been directed to obtain necessary permissions from the state excise department to keep their establishments open during the additional hours.
All celebrations at hotels, restaurants, clubs, resorts, organizations and functions in public places and special parties should end at 12.30am.
City police have constituted teams to curb instances of youth and students misbehaving with women in the guise of wishing them. They have also warned of strict action against persons indulging is drag races, driving vehicles rashly, drinking and driving, creating ruckus, drinking on beaches and conducting dances or programmes which are obscene.
Students and youth should not misbehave on the roads and should not force anybody to accept their greetings. They are prohibited from entering any compound or hostels, especially women's, to wish them.
No loud speakers will be allowed unless permission is taken from the city police. Those requiring permission, like hotels, restaurants, clubs, resorts, organizations and special parties, should file application for the same by Tuesday 4 pm. Action will be initiated against those who use loud speakers without permission.
No lighting crackers on the roads or throwing bottles or any act which causes public nuisance.
Those organizing programmes should take all necessary precautions to face an emergency.
