Mangalore, Feb 1: Newly-launched IT company Kiran Technologies will conduct free internet entrepreneurship workshops for women on weekends to train women in the use of internet social media to start and promote their own businesses online, chief executive officer of the company Shanavas.
Speaking at a press conference here on Saturday, he said that the internet entrepreneurship training programme would teach women and housewives how to promote their hobbies and interests as products through the internet and social media. The programme will be extended to women in the city on a first-come-first-serve basis on Saturday and Sunday every week, he said.
He said that the intake of each workshop will be 30 – 40 women on an average. The only requirement is knowledge about taking their business online and using internet tools. Women passionate about things like writing, fashion designing, travelling, painting, teaching, interior designing, or any other skill and experience can use this platform to earn an income. Even through their hobbies like cooking, baking, home remedies, beauty treatments, crafts etc, women can use the internet to start an online business, he said.
