Mangalore, Nov 25: The three-day valedictory ceremony of the'Year of Faith' organised by Mangalore Diocese began on Nehru Maidan concluded on Sunday.
The ceremony began with a prayer by Secretary of Evangelists, Priest from Chikmangalur diocese, Fr Ronald Cardoza.
Thousands of devotees, nuns and priests from Catholic community of diocese had gathered at Nehru Maidan. Prayer started with the message of faith and Fr Ronald Cardoza in his preaching said, faith must be spread to each and every person.
The message given by Jesus Christ, whom entire world respects as king of kingdom should be popularised, he said.
The prayer was followed by a series of lectures by Fr Joseph Martin and national director of Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM), Fr Franklin D'Souza.
Holy mass was celebrated by Mangalore Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza.
Preaching during the Eucharistic celebration Bishop asked devotees to follow and spread the message of faith with community. Forgive others and show love towards society, he said and added that the holy Bible was a book of promises and record of words of lord. Lord walked according to his words. Now it is our duty to build faith among human beings.
“After the celebration of year of faith it's time to follow Lord and forgive one another,” he said.
He announced that New Year is being dedicated for confession and forgiveness.
