Mangaluru, Feb 4: The Central Crime Branch of Mangaluru City Police on have arrested four notorious men, having links with a saffron fringe group, on the charge of attempting dacoity and murder.
The arrested have been identified as Manoj Kumar, 33, an alleged Hindu Jagarana Vedike activist from Ullal, and his alleged aides Prasad, 28, Shravan, 22, and Sujeet, 27.
The police seized three sharp weapons, 40 grams of cannabis and three mobile phones from the accused who were nabbed on Friday night.
On a tip-off, the CCB police waylaid a vehicle near Mulky Chitrapuin in which Manoj and his nine alleged associates were travelling.
While these four were caught, the others managed to escape and the police are on the lookout for them.
The police said Manoj was an accused in an attempt to murder case registered in Ullal.
