Mangaluru: The Indian Design School conducted a ‘Cook-Bake Workshop’ for their students of interior design on Wednesday 11th of July, in association with Siemens and Atelier for providing an in-depth understanding of kitchen design and its appliances.
Siemens Home Appliances in partnership with Atelier Home Design Studio, Valencia hosted the workshop. Mr. Ashfaq, the owner of Atelier showroom, had a comprehensive interaction with the students and providing them with detailed information regarding flooring materials like tiles and marbles, modular kitchen and accessories and bathroom and sanitary fittings. Mr. Manoj and Chef Shwetha were the representatives from Siemens Bengaluru, who not only demonstrated the features and workings of different kitchen appliances from Siemens but also conducted the ‘Cook-bake Workshop’ for enhancing the understanding of a modern modular kitchen.
Mr. Ashfaq and Mr. Manoj were in agreement that the workshop conducted by Indian Design School was first of its kind, not only in Mangaluru but also in whole of Karnataka, where an interior design college had organized such an event for providing their students with practical approach towards education. Furthermore, Atelier had made all the kitchen appliances functional specially for the workshop.
The students of IDS had an educational yet enjoyable afternoon cooking veg. pizza and grilled chicken and baking Nutella brownies. One of the students ecstatically commented “it was a fun and informative experience. Until today I was unaware of cooking and how a kitchen works. Everything has changed now!”
The workshop concluded with Mr. Ashfaq, Mr. Manoj and Chef Shwetha being awarded the certificate of appreciation from the Chairman - Ar. Mohammed Nissar, the Director – Dr. Nafeesa Shirin and the Principal – Ar. Ramnath Nayak of Indian Design School.
