Merchant stabbed to death near Uppala

Kasaragod, May 5: An unidentified person stabbed a merchant inside his shop at Mandekapp on the Bandiyod-Permude road near Uppala falling under the Manjeswaram police station limits around 2.30 p.m. on Thursday.

Having administered first aid treatment at a hospital at Kumbla, Ramakrshnan, 52 was rushed to a hospital in Mangaluru. However, he succumbed to his injuries midway.

Ramakrishna was inflicted with multiple deep cut wounds by the man who had earlier approached the shopkeeper for buying five cigarettes after alighting from a black painted car, Kumbla Circle Inspector of Police V.V. Manoj said.
