Suratkal, Jul 19: Well-known advocate from Suratkal, Mohammed Ismail, has been unanimously chosen as the president of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district unit of Janajagruti Vedike.
The decision was taken in a core meeting of the Vedike members held in the presence of Dharmadhikari of Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala Dr Veerendra Heggade at Dharmasthala on Thursday.
On the occasion, Kiran Hegde was chosen as the president of Bantwal taluk unit of the Vedike, Sridhar Holla as the president of Mangalore city unit, Sridhar Rao as president of Mangalore rural unit, Sadashiva Rai as president of Puttur taluk unit, Vimala Rangaiah as president of Sullia taluk unit and Kishore Hegde as president of Belthangady taluk unit.
Likewise, Annappa Hegde was selected as president of Kundapur taluk unit, Pratap Shetty as president of Udupi taluk unit and Harishchandra Tendulkar as the president of Karkala taluk unit.
Dr Heggade congratulated the new office-bearers of the Vedike.
Convenor of the vedike L H Manjunath, former presidents Vasanth Salian and S Radhakrishna Alva and former secretaries Vivek Pais and Mahaveera Ajri were present.
