Newsroom, Oct 9: A new-mother and her paramour from coastal Karnataka have been remanded to judicial custody by a local court in Tamil Nadu for two weeks after their arrest in connection with the coldblooded murder of former’s husband Mohammad Sameer.
35-year-old Sameer, who hailed from Ganjimutt in Mangaluru taluk had gone missing a month after he returned from Saudi Arabia to see his wife Firdous and newborn child. The missing case was converted into a murder case after police in Tamil Nadu’s Devadanapatti found Sameer’s dead body on September 23.
Firdous and her paramour Asif both hailing from Udupi district had gone absconding after the police suspected their involvement in the murder. However, they were arrested by the police a couple of days ago at Hosur bus stand near Tamil Nadu’s border with Karnataka.
It is learnt that both of them have confessed to the crime. Yesterday, they were produced before a local court which remanded them to judicial custody. The police are also the involvement of the two accused in drug racket.
