Mangalore, September 25: Corporate affairs minister M Veerappa Moily backed home minister P Chidambaram saying the minister, who is facing flak from opposition over his stand in the controversial 2G spectrum allocation, need not resign from the cabinet.
Chidambaram need not resign based on the details submitted by finance minister Pranab Mukherjee. The opposition's demand for the home minister's resignation has no constitutional validity in this context. "It was Pranab Mukherjee, who submitted documents to the Supreme Court. Hence, he (Pranab Mukherjee) only can speak on it. There is no need of more debate on the issue since the case is pending in the Supreme Court," Moily said.
