Mangalore, Jan 19: Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas M Veerappa Moily inaugurated the Rachana World Convention office and released the brochure of 'Magnet 2014' – a convention and exhibition of Mangalorean businessmen and entrepreneurs at a programme organised by Rachana Catholic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCCI) at the Bishop's House in the city on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, chairman of organising committee Walter D'Souza said that the one-day convention would aim at building networks with existing entrepreneurs at a global level and help budding entrepreneurs to start up and expand their businesses. The convention will be a platform for global business leaders, industrialists and businessmen hailing from the coastal districts to meet and build a dynamic and mutually beneficial business interaction, he said.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Moily said that the country had the highest manpower and was looking at a great future as it currently had the right demographic dividend. The challenge for us is to take advantage of this window of opportunity and grow as a country from integration to a higher level of integration, he said, adding that there was great potential in the people from the coastal region.
Rachana Catholic Chamber of Commerce and Industry will organise the world convention and exhibition 'Magnet 2014' on April 6 at TMA Pai International Convention Centre in the city.
Vicar General of Mangalore Diocese Fr Denis Moras Prabhu presided over the function.
President of Rachana Ivan D'Souza, secretary John Monteiro, and general secretary of the organising committee Marcel Monteiro were present.
