Mangaluru, Oct 2: Sannidhi T Rai Perla, a class 9 student of Chinmaya Vidyalaya in Kasaragod will be presiding over the Alva’s Vidyarthi Siri-2018, a literary event for children, to be organised by the Alva’s Alva's Education Foundation, Moodbidri on the outskirts of the city on November 15.
Ms Perla is a budding artist and known for extra-curricular activities in her school. She has donned roles in Yakshagana and also performed Bhagavatike (singing) in a few shows. She has come out with a collection of poems Chilipili Chittara (in Kannada) and Shades (in English) and these poems were featured in Akashvani. She has also written articles, Swami Chinmayananda Neeti Bhoodanegalu, in some newspapers.
Bhargavi Shabaraya, a II PU student from SDM Pre University College, Ujire, will preside over the poets’ meet to be held as part of the Vidyarthi Siri.
The interaction session in the event will be chaired by Shyam Prasad, another II PU student from SDM PU College, Ujire, while the valedictory speech will be by Dikshit, a Class 9 student of Alva’s English Medium Secondary School, the release said.
The above children were selected by a group of persons following a written examination, debate and interview of the aspirants, said Chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation Mohan Alva in a press release.
