Mudigere, Sept 20: Karnataka Revenue Minister R Ashok has said the State government will sanction alternative land for those farmers, who lost their farm land and house locations owing to landslips in the district and the revenue department had identified 374 acres of land suitable for the flood-hit people.
Speaking to newsmen after interacting with flood-hit people at a relief center at Bidarahalli in Mudigere taluk he said the affected people can move to the allocated alternate sites and land and immediately they will be provided with Rs 1 lakh to build homes after their dwelling were flattened due to landslips in the area earlier this season due to monsoon fury.
“From today itself, the affected people will start getting Rs one lakh for constructing houses. Those who have got suitable land to build house can start the foundation work right away. They will be getting a total of Rs 5 lakh government grants to build new homes in a phased manner,” he said.
