Belagavi, Sept 11: Karnataka Minister for Major and Medium Industry Jagadish Shettar today said that the new Industrial Policy proposed to be introduced will help the industrialists to establish their manufacturing units in tier 2 cities and especially North Karnataka and in other district places in the coming days.
Addressing a press conference after an interaction meet with the industrialists of Karnataka and Maharashtra, he said that "our main intention and motto is to bring more and more industry in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities and generate jobs for the youth. Presently, industrial growth of the state has stayed Bengaluru centric and nearby places attached to Bengaluru".
As infrastructure including air connectivity has been improved in North-Karnataka, investors can consider this area. Besides, the proposed Chennai to Mumbai industrial corridor that passes through Belagavi and Hubballi-Dharwad-Davanagere-Tumkur-Bengaluru would help the industrial growth, he added.
