Mangaluru, Nov 29: Condemning the provocative graffiti, Congress leader and Mangaluru City MLA U T Khader has warned of a district-wide protest if the police failed to arrest those responsible behind the act within 15 days.

In two similar incidents reported on November 27 and 29, graffiti in support of Lashkar-e-Taiba and threatening to behead those who insult prophet appeared on the walls of an apartment complex and in court premises in the city, respectively.

Mr Khader said that those behind the graffiti are trying to disrupt peace in the city and hence the police should catch the culprits immediately.

"What is the intelligence department doing? Why are these incidents occurring repeatedly? The people who have scribbled such graffiti should be identified and be deported to other countries,” he said.

"In Dakshina Kannada district, anti-social elements exhibit courage whenever BJP comes to power. The MP and MLAs of the district are answerable for this" he said.

Stating that he would bring the issue to the notice of the chief minister and home minister, he said that the culprits should be identified within a week. “If the culprits are not arrested within 15 days, then we will launch intense protest throughout the district," he warned.
