Mangaluru, Sept 26: The meteorological department has declared a yellow alert on September 26 and 27 in the coastal districts of Karnataka.
According to the metrological department, Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada and Udupi districts will receive between 64.5mm to 115.5mm of rains these two days.
The department has issued a yellow alert for September 26 in Bidar, Dharwad, Gadag, Kalaburagi, Raichur, Vijayapura and Yadagiri districts.
As southwest monsoon is active in coastal districts, torrential rainfall is expected in coastal districts. Rains have receded in southern interior parts of the state.
A few places in districts like Ballari, Bengaluru rural, Bengaluru city, Chitradurga, Mandya, Mysuru and Shivamogga might get some rainfall along with thunder and lightning.
In Uttara Kannada district, Karwar and Kadra received 11.7 centimetres of rain on Friday, September 25 while Gokarna received 5 centimetres, Bhatkal centimetre, Kollur and Manki received 3 centimetres, Castle Rock, Bidar and Agumbe received 2 centimetres each.
