Mangaluru, Feb 2: Following complaint of possession of disproportionate assets, the sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today raided the properties belonging to a senior official of Mangaluru City Corporation.
ACB sources confirmed the simultaneous raids on private properties and office of K V Jayaraj, the town planning joint director of Mangaluru City Corporation. The officer is being interrogated by the ACB teams.
The raid was carried out under the guidance ACB SP Bopaiah DySP Prakash, and inspectors Sham Sundar and Gururaj. Teams from Manglauru, Udupi and Chikkamagaluru took part in the operation.
Apart from riding his residences at Kapikad, Bejai and his office in MCC building in the city, residence of his father and quarters of his wife in Mahe also was raided, sources said.
Sources said that ACB sleuths conducted raids on six other officials in Bengaluru, Kalaburagi, Bellary, Kolar, Dharwad and Chitradurga.
