Kalaburagi, Sept 10: Activists of Popular Front of India performed the last rites of S M Yalagi (57), the Circle Inspector of Naganahalli's Police Training Centre (PTC), who died of Covid-19 yesterday.
All the protocols were followed during the last rites, said PTC Principal Iada Martin Marbaniang.
Yalagi tested positive for the virus on August 4. He was first undergoing treatment at ESIC hospital here and then was shifted to a private hospital.
The circle inspector breathed his last as he failed to respond to the treatment. Hailing from Yalagi village in Surapura taluk of Yadgir district, he was working at the PTC from January 2019. He is survived by a wife and four sons.
Sheikh Aejaz Ali, Kalaburgi district president of PFI, said that Yalagi was an upright and people friendly police officer.
