Swamiji, his aides booked under POCSO for sexually abusing high school girls

Mysuru, Aug 27: City police has filed an FIR against a swamiji of a Chitradurga-based prominent mutt under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 for allegedly sexually abusing high school girls.

The police have booked the pontiff under sections based on the complaint by Child Development and Protection Officer Chandrakumar.

In all, FIR has been registered against four persons, including warden. According to the complaint, the Swamiji used to sexually abuse the high school girls, also students of free hostel run by the mutt, in Chitradurga.

However, the two students reached Odanadi Seva Samsthe in Mysuru and explained the abuse to the authorities concerned.

According to sources, the complaint is likely to be transferred to concerned police in Chitradurga as the incident happened there.

Israeli airstrikes target Lebanese capital Beirut; many children among victims

The Israeli military has carried out airstrikes against the Lebanese capital Beirut. On Friday, the military said it had staged a “targeted strike” against the city.

At least five children are among those killed in the attack.

Lebanon’s al-Mayadeen television network said a drone had fired several missiles against Beirut’s heavily-populated Dahiyeh suburb.

According to Lebanon’s official National News (NNA), “five children were martyred in the hostile airstrike.”

The agency added that an F35 jet targeted residential areas with two strikes.

Media outlets cited sources as saying that the attack targeted Ibrahim Aqil, a senior commander of Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement.

Aqil is a member of Hezbollah’s Jihad Council, which is responsible for directing the group’s military and security activities.

He has replaced Fuad Shukr, who was assassinated in an Israeli targeted killing attack against Beirut on July 30.
